Marc A. Spilker (born June 28, 1964) is co-head of the Investment Management Division(IMD) which consists of Goldman Sachs Asset Management(GSAM) and Private Wealth Management(PWM) at Goldman Sachs.
Life and career.
Born and raised in Long Island, New York, he is a 1982 graduate of W.C. Mepham High School. He received a BSE(Bachelor of Science in Economics) from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1986.
In 1986, Spilker went to work for O’Connor and Associates, a Chicago derivatives trading house.
Spilker joined Goldman Sachs in 1990 and was named partner in 1996. He was the head of Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities in Japan from 1997 to 2000. He joined IMD in 2006 as head of Global Alternative Asset Management, Previously, Spilker was responsible for U.S. Equities Trading and Global Equity Derivatives. He is a member of the firm-wide Management Committee and Business Practices Committee. He also serves as Co-Chair of the IMD Operating Committee and Chair of the IMD Reputational Care Committee.
